First Timer

I had my first photo shoot Saturday. I loved it! And this girl was the perfect model to start with. Here are just a few of the shots we got.

Our Sunday Drive

So as promised Michael drove up to Day Break with me to check it out.

He actually did like it. Like it. Not Love it. This was the conversation we had about the pros and cons, okay only cons.

Mike: But what about the HOA.
me: What about it.

Mike: Well what if I want to put up a fence?

me: We can do that, they allow wood or vinyl fencing.

Mike: What if I want to put up a chain link fence?

me: staring.

Mike: And what if I want to take my car apart in the drive way and leave it for a couple weeks until I have time to fix it.

me: really staring.
.
Mike: The Home Owners Association wouldn't allow that.
.
me: Oh, well now I know what we are looking for Babe. I'll keep an eye out for a neighborhood like that.
.
...And I have been laughing about it ever since. Good to know what my husbands dream home looks like.

My Bliss

I fell in love this week. I didn't mean to. It just happened.

Day Break

Ahhh. It was love at first sight. That hasn't happened since I met Michael or Kate.

Day Break, Utah. It's beautiful. One of the largest planned communities in the country, Day Break features over 1,056 acres of open space. That's over 1,000 acres dedicated to parks! It boasts off tennis courts, swimming pools, a community lake, play grounds, community gardens, a skate park, a dog park, and 22 miles of walking, jogging, and bike trails. The 67 acre lake allows kayaking, sailing, and fishing. If you were to live there, you couldn't walk more than a block or two without seeing another park. There is even an Elementary school built right in the community that all kids can walk to. Attached to the school is the the Community Center which features an indoor track, cardio and weight equipment and has range for classes such as yoga. So you can walk your kids to school and head right off to yoga class. Or your kids and head straight there after school for dance or martial arts programs. Ahh bliss.

The homes there are all gorgeous. They look nothing like your typical suburban homes. They feature unique color schemes and are designed to look like cottages from an older more established neighborhood.

On the outskirts of town a row of small shops are being built called SoDa Row. The shops will include a Mexican restaurant, Zions bank, a hair salon, a sports center for children where dance cheer martial arts will be taught along with a preschool program, a dry cleaner, a sushi bar, a children's boutique, a flower shop, and a local market.

As much as I can describe this dream of mine I will never do it justice. You have to see it for yourself. But I will post some pictures.

As for me, I'm dragging my wonderful husband up there on Sunday for a family drive. Maybe he'll fall in love too. I'd be fine with that.
Oh yeah, Oquirrh Temple is across the street. I think I just got everything I asked for.

I can't believe it, we are going to have a boy in April! We are so excited! And just a little stressed that we have absolutely nothing but pink attire, toys, and accessories. Colton might just be wearing dresses for the first year of his life. =)

Hilariously, Not Funny

If your around Michael long enough you'll bet to hear him use the word "Woman", jokingly when he asks me for something.
Apparently my little brother has caught on to his brother in-laws humor.

Jonny's teacher brought juice to his class on Sunday during church. When Jon needed a refill he yelled;

"Bring me more juice Woman!"
.
Yep, Jon chose a great role model. Good job Babe! HAHAHAHA!

Sick Days

Don't you just hate being sick? Okay okay, we all really enjoyed it when we were in elementary school, or rather enjoyed the lack of being in school, while our moms bought us soda and made chicken noodle soup.
But as an adult, so not fun! Michael, Kate and I have all been sick the last couple of days. And the familiar roles are all reversed. You are one administering medicine, taking out trash bags of straight tissue, making chicken noodle soup, and staying up through all hours of the night with a baby who is as miserable as you are. You are also buying loads of cough drops, Theraflu herbal teas, Vick's vapor rub, baby Tylenol, boxes of tissue, (thank you to mi amor for buying) Jamba Juice, and eventually a humidifier (not completely necessary now, but I am very sure we will get our money out of it in years to come).
Even though we aren't getting a kick out of skipping school, there are some very good benefits of being sick as an adult. For example, your husband stays home and cuddles with you more than usual, so does your baby (and anyone who knows Kate knows that doesn't happen often). The living room is temporarily transformed into your bedroom, your baby's room, the t.v. room, the kitchen, your medicine cabinet and basically every other room in your house. Which not only makes life simpler, but better, since everyone is in the same place the entire day. Dishes slip, and that's okay. Red Box your once BF becomes your BFF as rentals spill over the floor. Sleeping in is must, and time really doesn't seem to matter.
So I'll take being sick, for a few more days of bonding with my family. As often as it happens, it doesn't happen enough.
